Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold Bank 2
Definition
Same as P0420 but on Bank 2. The catalytic converter on the second bank is below the efficiency threshold. On V-configuration engines, each bank has its own converter.
Common Causes
- Worn or poisoned catalytic converter on Bank 2
- Exhaust leak
- Faulty downstream O2 sensor on Bank 2
- Chronic misfire on Bank 2 cylinders
