Definition
The EVAP purge control valve circuit has an electrical fault. The ECM cannot properly command the purge valve open or closed.
Common Causes
- Faulty purge control valve solenoid
- Open or shorted wiring in the purge valve circuit
- Corroded connector
- ECM driver circuit failure
