Gas Cap Test

A functional test of the gas cap's ability to prevent fuel vapors from escaping into the atmosphere. To pass, the cap must hold pressure and must not leak at a rate greater than 60 cubic centimeters per minute. Most vehicles up to 1997 model year receive a gas cap test. Vehicles newer than 1997 are identified using an on-board computer test.
