Glossary Term
IM240 / IM147
The IM240 is a vehicle emissions test procedure developed by the US EPA that measures HC, CO, and NOx while the vehicle is driven over a pre-defined series of accelerations, decelerations, and cruise conditions. The IM147 is a 147-second abbreviated version performed by the State of Arizona. Tests show the IM147 takes less time and produces more accurate results.
