Knock Sensor

A piezoelectric sensor mounted on the engine block that detects abnormal combustion vibrations (knock or detonation). When knock is detected, the ECU retards ignition timing to prevent engine damage. Knock sensors are critical for engines running on varying fuel octane levels.
