The Electronic Power Control (EPC) light indicates a fault in the throttle system, which controls engine power output. The vehicle may enter limp mode with severely reduced acceleration. This is the highest-volume Audi/VW warning.

Common Causes
- Throttle body failure or carbon buildup
- Accelerator pedal position sensor fault
- Brake light switch failure (safety interlock)
- Mass airflow sensor malfunction
- Wiring harness fault in throttle circuit
Immediate Action
The vehicle may have very limited power. Do not attempt to force acceleration. Pull over if power loss is severe. A restart may temporarily clear the warning, but the underlying fault remains.
