“Wrench Warning Light”
Ford's powertrain malfunction indicator. The wrench icon indicates the PCM has detected a fault in the engine, transmission, or AWD system. Power may be limited. This is Ford's equivalent of BMW's "Drivetrain Malfunction."

- Throttle body fault
- Transmission solenoid failure
- PCM software fault requiring reflash
- EGR valve stuck open or closed
- Turbocharger boost control fault (EcoBoost)
Immediate Action
Power may be reduced. Drive to a safe location and restart the vehicle. If the wrench light returns, schedule diagnostic service.
